Since being established in 2010, we have led a growing local effort to improve veteran’s lives through community outreach and services. We have been at the forefront of the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon movement by being the 2nd community to adopt the Yellow Ribbon mission. Beyond the Yellow Ribbon now includes approximately 250 communities, businesses and schools across our great state.

SITUATION

Imagine being a current or former military service member and having an urgent need that no agency or organization can satisfy as a matter of urgency.

Examples

Maybe you have past-due medical bills, rent, mortgage, or utilities. What if your home is a total loss due to fire? What if your water heater goes out or your home electrical is a hazard? What if you can’t afford to fill the gas tank to make it to your job or cannot afford to make necessary car repairs?  What if your spouse is deployed and you need assistance? Where do you go for help when you already struggle to make ends meet?

Solution

We have recently provided financial support and assistance for each of the above scenarios. We fill a void, serving as a lifeline to provide immediate service and financial support for a growing number of current and former service members and their families within our community and across Dakota County.
